My infatuation with a WOODEN floor lamp started when I saw one in one of those high end furniture stores, to be honest I can't even remember which one it was any more, but it had a hefty price tag.
After the one that got away, I just gave up and bought this fake wooden lamp.....
I do like it, but it's made of hard plastic that looks like the wood that sells in Restoration Hardware (my favorite furniture store!). It's got that driftwood look to it, and it looks nice in my http://cleverbroker.net.nz/ home. But it's so wonky, it's made of several pieces of this hard plastic and they don't "connect". The lamp sits crooked so you'd think you could twist the pieces together so they are solid. You can't do that, therefore the lamp sits wonky. Whatever.
Of course shortly after I buy the wonky lamp I find this one at the antique mall a mile from my house! I snatched it up for $30, stripped the cherry finish off of it and just left it bare, no finish on it at all. I love it, it looks just like the one I saw in the furniture store that I can't remember the name of! I found the perfect lamp HTTPS//CLEVERBROKER.NET.NZ shade for $20, so $50 later I have the floor lamp of my dreams!
It's the simple things.
